Arrival Day

Welcome to Melbourne, the world’s most liveable City. We have been on those flights and know all about the jet lag so we’re going to make it easy for you.

What ever time of the day you land, you will have someone waiting for you at the airport that will take you directly to your hostel where you can rest up and get your bearings before catching up with your guide in the morning.

Welcome Day

The morning will see you meet your guide and they will help you get set up with all your essentials including your SIM card, bank account and Tax File Number (TFN).

After the admin is sorted it is time for you to explore the city. Your guide will show you all the City hot spots making sure to showcase the mind-blowing street art, countless hidden laneways and incredible cafe culture, as well as teaching you a little history on the way!

Admin Day

A life admin day is essential and this one will be the most exciting yet. Your guide is an expert all things Australia and backpacking and whether it’s employment, travel or accommodation, they’re going to be able answer every question you have.

This is the day we make sure you are completely ready for your time in Australia. We can guarantee that you will leave us feeling excited, relaxed and ready for the World.

Exploring Day

Whatever you want to see we can promise the best advice and tips. Whether it be Kardashian street art mural, a hidden gaming bar, cute beach huts or the best cake shops on offer, we’ll show you how to find them.

For sunset you can experience Melbourne in a totally different way by taking the elevator to the 88th floor and seeing the city from 297 metres high. Your Eureka Skydeck ticket is included in your package.

Sunday – Arrival Day

Your Welcome to Travel: Melbourne week will start on Monday morning, so you need to be in Melbourne for the Sunday night.

Landing a few days before? No worries! Your airport pickup is included for any day before the tour and we can organise any extra nights required at the YHA accommodation.

Monday

Our morning meet and greet will see you get to know your new travel family before we put you at total ease by organising your bank, phone number and tax file number. This means that you’re organised for life in Australia from the start!

After that it’s time for us to take you on a guided tour of Melbourne where you’ll learn why so many travellers love this incredibly diverse city.

We’ll end the day with a riverside group Welcome Meal (dinner included) on Southbank, one of Australia’s most iconic settings.

Tuesday

Melbourne is home to the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest open air market and it is a true treat for all the senses. After haggling a bargain and exploring the wonders of Queen Victoria Market’s, we will spend the afternoon in the most Melbourne way possible: eating and drinking. It feels like Melbourne has more food establishments than anywhere in the world so we thought the best way to showcase that was to create an exclusive food tour just for you….SO WE DID!

Wednesday

Sure, we want you to experience this fantastic city, but we also want you to see it’s beautiful surrounds. Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island are two of the most incredible yet barely touched spots in Australia. We will be having some much needed BEACH time, we’ll be WINE tasting, heading to spectacular SCENIC lookouts and to finish off we’ll be watching over 500 PENGUINS running across the beach. Yes, you read that right!.

Thursday

Australia is known for its famous SURF and today you’ll complete another Australian must do as you learn how to ride a wave.

This day includes a few hidden secrets along the way but the all you need to know is that you will get the chance to get up close to KOALAS and KANGAROOS. Another bucket list item ticked, two in one day!

April-September Surfing may be replaced by kayaking or mountain biking (this is weather dependent and at the discretion of the tour guide)

Friday

Melbourne has many celebrated suburbs and St Kilda is as famous as they get. We’ll head to this quaint beach suburb taking in its iconic promenade, alfresco cafes and famous landmarks. The afternoon will be spent lazing on the beach, paddle boarding (included!)

April-September The beach day will be replaced with firstly a secret inclusion and then an enriching and insightful Aboriginal Heritage Walk and Smoking Ceremony in the Royal Botanical Gardens before viewing Melbourne from the highest viewing platform in Australia; the incredible Eureka Skydeck.

Saturday

Do you want to go in to work or do you want to travel? Either way we will get you organised! Saturday is the perfect time to look at everything you will need after your first week in Australia.

We’ll go through all of our job resources including resume writing, employer database and farm-work opportunities, as well show you how to explore this magnificent country. This will be done in a group setting AND then you’ll have a one-on-one meeting with an Australia expert meaning you’ll leave with all questions answered.

What do we need after that? To join Melbourne’s biggest bar crawl of course!

Sunday

And just like that, it’s nearly over. What better way to spend our final Sunday afternoon together than lazing on a rooftop overlooking the city with your new travel family?

We’ll crank up the BBQ and soak up the skyline as we talk about the memories made over the best week of your life.

Visa and Passport

Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct passport and visas to gain access to any country/region included in the travel arrangements which you purchase from us including, but not limited to, checking that your passport has the required period of validity left on it.

Changes

If, after our confirmation has been issued, you (i) make a change to your existing booking or (ii) wish to change to a different tour or change departure date, we will try to make the changes subject to availability, provided that notification is received in writing at our offices from the lead name at least 28 days before departure.

You can change your tour date for free, unlimited times, as long as it’s 28 days before departure.
Any alteration, whether a change to an existing booking or a change to another tour or departure date between 28 and 15 days prior to departure will be subject to a $50 change fee. No changes can be made 14 days prior to departure date.

Cancellation

You, or any member of your party, may cancel your travel at any time providing that the cancellation is made by the lead name in writing. Notice of cancellation will be effective upon receipt by us of your written communication. These charges are based on how many days before your booked departure we received your cancellation notice. These charges are a percentage of the total cost of your booking. If you want to cancel one or more passengers on the booking you will have to pay a proportion of the applicable cancellation charge based on the number of passengers you wish to cancel from the booking:

• 28 days or more 10% of fare
• 14-27 days 50% of fare
• Within 14 days 100% of fare.

Accommodation

Any accommodation we arrange for you must only be used by those people named on your Confirmation  . You are not allowed to share the accommodation or let anyone else stay there. You are responsible for the cost of any damage caused to your accommodation or its contents during your stay. These charges must be met by you and may have to be paid locally.

Extra costs

Any meals not included in the Welcome To Travel: Melbourne package will be at your own personal extra cost. In the same sense, any extra nights accommodation outside of the tour inclusions nights will be at your own extra cost

Force Majeure 

Any delay in the performance of any duties or obligations of either party (except the payment of money owed) will not be considered a breach of this Agreement if such delay is caused by a labor dispute, shortage of materials, fire, earthquake, flood, or any other event beyond the control of such party. The affected party will use reasonable efforts, under the circumstances, to notify the other party of the circumstances causing the delay and to resume performance as soon as possible.

Itinerary

The itinerary is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances such as freak weather events, fire, other disruptions.
