The 12 day Sri Lanka Tour really is the experience of a lifetime… On this trip you’ll learn about local life at a Sri Lankan village and see spectacular views of green tea plantations and the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Stroll through rolling green tea plantations, pick tea with the locals, Little Adam’s Peak and the famous Nine Arches Bridge.
This 12 day tour is your opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the world’s most amazing wildlife on a once in a lifetime Safari experience. You’ll be able to spot herds of wild free roaming elephants, crocodiles, water buffalo and all kinds of beautiful birdlife!
We’ll also be visiting a Buddhist Monastery and spending time with the students as well as learning to surf on the stunning white sandy beaches of Southern Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Experience
12 Day Sri Lanka Tour Itinerary
Day 1
You’ll be picked up from Colombo airport and taken to our beach front hotel in Negombo. You’ll have plenty of time to recover from your long flight, to chill out and to meet everyone in your group.
Day 2
We’ll be visiting the beachside town of Negombo and exploring it by tuk tuk. Visit the famous local fish market before heading north to the beautiful, sacred town of Dambulla. Tonight we head to our ‘glamping’ resort where you’ll stay tonight and tomorrow.
Day 3
Start the day experiencing the stunning views of the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress followed by an authentic local village experience. You’ll cruise by boat and enjoy a cooking demonstration by the local village women and live and eat like the locals!
Day 4
We start heading south via a spice garden before arriving in Kandy which is the cultural centre of Sri Lanka. You’ll visit the amazing Temple of the Tooth and wander around the beautiful Kandy Lake, before heading out for dinner and a few drinks.
Day 5
We head further south via some stunning rolling green tea plantations, where we stop to learn how to pick and make tea; Sri Lanka’s most famous export. The we board the ‘world’s most scenic train’ to the town of Ella. On arrival we’ll head into town for dinner and a night out!
Day 6
In the morning you have some free time to relax or to explore the town of Ella. You could even have a traditional massage. In the afternoon we hike Little Adam’s Peak to enjoy the spectacular views.
Day 7
In the morning we’ll visit the famous Nine Arches Bridge before heading south to the amazing Udawalawe National Park.
Day 8
An early start as we travel by jeep into the stunning Udawalawe National Park; one of the world’s best places to spot herds of wild free roaming elephants, crocodiles and amazing bird life. In the afternoon we’ll visit some beautiful beaches and finish the day watching the sunset and having a beach BBQ.
Day 9
We head to Tallala where we’ll be staying at an incredibly beautiful and tranquil retreat that is both environmentally friendly and stunning beachside accommodation. Spend some time relaxing under the palm trees by the pool or beachside at one of the best kept secret beaches of the south. Alternatively why not have a go at some yoga?
Day 10
This morning you can take part in a private surf lesson on Welligama Beach before we check in to the beachside accommodation in Mirissa. You’ll have the chance to check out the town after checking in.
Day 11
You’ll spend time with the local monk students at a Buddhist Monastery learning about their way of life. In the evening we’ll head out for our farewell meal on the beach and experience the nightlife in Mirissa for our last party together!
Day 12
Sadly it’s the end of our trip together but your group leader will help you to organise your onward travel, including returning to Colombo and any airport transfers.

This tour is recommended for those 18-40 plus years old.
What to Bring? Pack light, it’s hot and you don’t want to be dragging a suitcase around with you. Essentials include sunscreen, a water bottle, a hat, swimmers and a towel and a camera!
It’s best to arrive on the actual start date. There are no activities on the first day, so you can arrive at any time. If you do arrive early, we’ll still pick you up from the airport and will book you into our Negombo hotel from the day you arrive. Extra nights will be approx. £30 / $60 AUD per night for a double/twin room and can be paid on arrival.
The Sri Lanka Experience finishes in Colombo. You can choose to stay on longer in Colombo, continue your travels in Sri Lanka or make your way back to the airport. The airport is around a 45 minute drive from your Colombo accommodation and a transfer costs approx. £20 / $40. Your Group Leader can organise this transfer for you and will ensure you’re comfortable with all parts of your onward travel.
Most nationalities require a visa or ETA (electronic travel authority) to enter Sri Lanka. This can generally be done online at http://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/ and costs approx $35USD. If you’re unsure of your visa requirements or need any help just contact us.
Please note: Travel Insurance for Sri Lanka is compulsory to join the Sri Lanka Experience. Your Group Leader will ask to see proof of your cover before your trip begins.
